Puffin Chardonnay 2017
Tasting Notes
The newest Puffin wine to join the flock! Puffin Petite Sirah presents luscious aromas and flavors of blueberries, blackberries, plum and chocolate. Just a baby, this wine has firm, but not overpowering tannins.
Food Pairing
Puffin Petite Sirah pairs nicely with big foods, including roast pork, BBQ and burgers.
Product Notes
All of the fruit for this delicious wine is from Stonetree Vineyard (Wahluke Slope), just outside of Prosser, WA. The gently sloping vineyard has a southwest aspect, uses drip irrigation and VSP (vertical shoot positioning) trellising.
In the cellar, this Petite Sirah was aged for 9 months in oak barrels. Approximately 67% of the oak barrels were French and 33% of the oak was American.
Winemaker
Puffin Petite Sirah is made by Ed Fus, the Winemaker for Angel Vine winery. Ed Fus and Angel Vine are known for producing the Pacific Northwest’s finest zinfandels as well as several other big red wines.
